Prof. Anat Zeira

Head of Research and Evaluation

Anat Zeira is Professor at the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where she previously served as Head of the BSW program. She is the chair of the Committee of Degrees and Institutions of the Israeli National Council of Social Work, and served as a member of its Registration Committee. She is also a founding member of the Italian-based International Association for Outcome-Based Evaluation and Research on Family and Children’s Services (iaOBER).

Prof. Zeira’s research focus on child’s welfare, particularly on developing the empirical basis of social work practice with at-risk children and their families. She is one of the leading researchers worldwide on the transition to independent living of young people aging out of care. Her studies emphasize the importance of planning and monitoring interventions and their outcomes, and the integration of research methods in field practice.
