Ivar Frønes is a senior researcher at the National Development Center for Children and Young People, and professor emeritus of sociology at University of Oslo. He has published a number of books and articles on children, growing up, life course development and social welfare. His scientific work covers various fields, with emphasis on cultural studies, family sociology, life- course analysis, the sociology of childhood and youth, child welfare, social interventions and evaluations of interventions.
