Therapeutic Intervention with Adolescents and Families in States of Crisis and Trauma – Extension Program
In collaboration with: Ha’Ogen Youth Village
Goal: Last year the leading staff members of the community-based Ha’Ogen Youth Village had a training program that added the “trauma lens” to the process of treating adolescents and their families. The program provided them with tools for evaluation and processing, when meeting with the families and children who had experienced traumatic events. The aim of the extension program was to deepen the study of the intervention principles of the “trauma lens” and practice the tools acquired. Special emphasis was placed on talking about trauma with children, their parents and both together.
Target Population: Social workers, directors and coordinators of the various frameworks at Ha’Ogen.

Training Program for Foster Care Social Workers on Principles of Intervention Using a ‘Trauma Lens’ (Third year)
In collaboration with: The “Shachar” Organization – foster care services
Goal: To provide the foster care social workers with the intervention principles using a “trauma lens” vis-à-vis foster parents and children removed from their homes. This year the training focused on summarizing the contents of the previous two years’ training, with emphasis on implementation of the foster care social worker’s work.

Training Program for the Staff of the Transitional Homes, Re’im and Beit Sherman: Intervention Tools with Young Children Who Experienced Trauma

Goal: To provide intervention tools for the therapists and counselors in the transitional homes, Beit Sherman and Re’im, by familiarizing them with the world of content of childhood trauma, its impact on children, and intervention methods with young children who experienced traumatic events in the family.

Goal: To provide therapists with evaluation and processing tools when encountering families and children who experienced traumatic events. Special emphasis was placed on “talking about the trauma” with children, with their parents, and together.
Target Population: Social workers in the Welfare Department of the Haifa Municipality and social workers in the Parent-Child Centers.

Goal: To focus on the central issues when working with families in high conflict divorce disputes; specifically, parental alienation, refusal to uphold visitation rights,, therapeutic interventions with children living in families with such the disputes, and parents’ splitting mechanisms during severe disputes.
