20:00-21:00 Israel Time
on Zoom
* The lecture is free of charge

Lecturer: Prof. David Finkelhor is Professor of Sociology at the University of New Hampshire. He is the Director of Crimes against Children Research Center, and Co-Director of the Family Research Laboratory. He has been studying the problems of child victimization, child maltreatment and family violence since 1977.

This talk addresses the portion of the child sexual abuse problem in which offenders mobilize elements of voluntary participation among victims, particularly among teens. Some of these dynamics are described in the literatures on statutory sex offenses and also online sex crimes, but they have a broader application. The talk will characterize some of the various different dynamics in these episodes.  The talk will emphasize the importance of recognizing and raising awareness about these offenses, because they have major implications for prevention, investigation, and treatment.
