Training Program: The Doctor’s Role in Detecting Maltreated Children and How to Treat Them

In collaboration with: Maccabi HMO health services

Goal: To provide tools for detecting and identifying maltreated children and treating them.

Target Population: Pediatricians in the Maccabi HMO health services

One-Day Seminar on Child Abuse and Neglect and Its Consequence on the Health of the Child

In collaboration with: Maccabi HMO health services

Goal: Provide tools for detecting maltreated children, and their treatment, with an understanding of the consequences of such abuse for both the short-term and the long-term.

Target Population: doctors, nurses, social workers, paramedical staff.

One-Day Seminar for the Medical Staff of Yoseftal Hospital and Staff from the Arava

Goal: To provide doctors working in the communities and in the hospital with tools and knowledge to identify and report cases of child abuse and neglect

Target Population: Nurses, doctors and social workers at Yoseftal Hospital and the Arava

Training for Hospital Staffs of the Clalit HMO Hospitals – on Child Abuse and Neglect

Goal: To provide tools to identify and treat abused children who reach the hospital

Target Population: Doctors and nurses of the Clalit HMO hospitals

One-Day Seminar for Medical Teams of the Maccabi HMO

Goal: The public health workers within the community encounter dilemmas when suspicion of child abuse arises. This seminar focuses on these dilemmas and when reporting is required. The medical teams acquire knowledge to help them cope with situations that raise uncertainties.

Target Population: Medical teams of the Maccabi HMO, the Jerusalem and Plains regions, and medical teams of the Jerusalem Clalit HMO

Goal: To enrich the committee members’ understanding of the long-term consequences of trauma
