Meital Center

The Meital Center for Treatment of Child and Youth Victims of Sexual Abuse in Jerusalem is a service offered by the Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs and operated by the non-profit organization Bayit L’Kol Yeled B’Yisrael )A Home for Every Child in Israel(. The municipal social service departments provide this service free of charge to all families in need of assistance.

Treatment is offered to the residents of Jerusalem, both children and youth up to the age of 18 who have suffered sexual abuse or exhibited age-inappropriate or abusive sexual behavior, and their families. The treatment program includes ongoing parental guidance meant to provide the parents – and through them, the entire family – with the support and care they need.

The staff therapists hold Masters’ degrees in emotion-focused therapy, are skilled in treating children and youth, and receive continuous training and guidance in treating child and youth sexual abuse. The staff includes both male and female therapists from multiple population sectors, thus promoting cultural sensitivity to the needs of Jerusalem’s diverse groups.

Treatment is available at the Meital Center, Haruv Campus, Mt. Scopus and at the Center’s branches in Givat Shaul and Talpiot.
