Safecare is a research-based American program for parental training that began in 1979. The program is targeted at parents of children ages 0-5 who are at risk of abuse or neglect. Its objective – to prevent situations of abuse, neglect and violence towards the children and, accordingly, to even decrease/prevent recurrent reporting to the welfare services.

Three senior social-workers of the Ashdod Municipality Social Services Department studied this method, after which they trained fifteen professional support workers to carry out this intervention program in the homes of families with young children.
